STORY
A Belgian who has lived in Spain for more than 20 years, Steve runs a workshop in Cádiz focussed on reclaimed wood. To make his furniture, he uses a material known as Dutch wood, which he recovers from Dutch construction scaffolding. When the scaffolding reaches the end of its life cycle and has to be replaced, Steven and his partner Raquel reclaim it and turn it into furniture. This type of wood is extremely hard-wearing as it spends months out in the open, which is why it’s perfect for making outdoor furniture.
WHY DO WE WORK WITH Steven?
We were drawn to their story because of our shared vision. Steven and Raquel are convinced it's possible to both make furniture with personality and take care of the environment too. Why use new wood when we can reuse what's already there?
