We're celebrating at Hannun. We won the Best Rookie at the E-commerce Awards 2020!

On November 12, the eleventh edition of the prestigious eCommerce Awards Spain, the leading awards for e-commerce in our country, was held in virtual format. These awards reward the most innovative companies in the online market sector.

We are very excited to share with you that we have won the Best Rookie award, which the jury grants to emerging online shops born in the last three years whose business model has become a benchmark.

In the words of José Ramón Padrón, the person in charge of announcing the award, Hannun stands out for being "a sustainable eCommerce, with an elegant design and great taste in the photography of its furniture”.

he story behind the success

Hannun's story is that of a team that started from scratch, and with hardly any resources, but whose enthusiasm and perseverance has ended up moving mountains. When our founder, Maurici Badia, started making handmade furniture from his garage to sell on Wallapop just three years ago, he had no idea what was to come. Neither did Joan, our CEO, when he ventured to leave everything behind to get involved in the project and make its growth possible.

In just a few months, Hannun already had 50,000 followers on social networks and closed its first year with a turnover of 300,000 euros. We were facing the birth of a project larger than we'd dreamed of, but we were clear that this wasn't going to divert us from our main mission: to generate the greatest possible positive impact on both the environment and society.

In 2019, we continued our growth by focusing on internationalisation and creating a network of local craftsmen. We have a turnover of 1.2 million euros. 2020 has been our big test: in the middle of the crisis with the COVID-19 pandemic, we've managed to expand the team to 35 people, and we already have a turnover of 5 million euros, all thanks to you!

After winning this award, we’re going to tackle the coming year with even more enthusiasm and, above all, with the same desire to continue fighting for a more sustainable future and more responsible consumption. We are increasingly convinced that we can achieve this. We are certifying ourselves as a Carbon Neutral company and B Corp in order to demonstrate to all those who believe in us that our intention to do things well is real.
