The Suzzete sofa is made of solid wood from the controlled felling of Nordic fir. It is called this because in the Netherlands it is used in construction for scaffolding. When scaffolding has to be replaced, the wood can be recovered to make furniture like this one.
Due to its origin, it is a very resistant wood with an aged and worn finish. It may present slight imperfections, such as knots, small cracks or changes in tone, it is the magic of the imperfect! It is treated with a non-toxic water-based varnish and although it is suitable for outdoor use, it is recommended to protect it from the rain and cover it when not in use.
As for the textile, the canvas is made of water-repellent olefin fibre with Teflon stain-resistant treatment. The fabric does not deform with use or with the passage of time and is highly resistant to tears and rips. It is also water-repellent, making it perfect for use next to a swimming pool.
This piece is handmade at Raquel's workshop in the town of San Roque, Cádiz.
